A Doula is your person. They walk with you through your pregnancy, side by side and into your birth and early postpartum. They don't take space, yet they hold space. They are a sturdy pillar, a shoulder to lean on, a wealth of knowledge and a trunk of tools and techniques to help support you in your sacred transformations. Whether that be emotional, mental, physical, educational, intuitive, or observant support, they have your back (faster than you can say 'hip squeeze please!'). We are an abundance of knowledge and a library of wisdom, constantly growing and learning in new ways and for new ways with capacities to serve in the best of ways. The connection between a birther and their doula is incredibly important, it should feel comforting as well as comfortable. They will be with you in one of your most sacred and vulnerable experiences, you should be aligned in ways that make you feel excited and confident. Doulas are a wonderful addition that does not replace anyone else in your experience but adds (unless you have hired them to replace), they honor everyone you have chosen to be in your birth space and all of their individual roles to you and for you. We often help you advocate for yourself, advocate with you, or in times that warrant it, we advocate for you and your wishes, though we do prioritize the importance of you advocating for yourself, your experience and newborn, so that you enter motherhood confident with a wonderful sense of personally grown accomplishment and empowerment.
We want what you want. We are a blank slate, a neutral ground. You never have to worry about judgment for any of your choices because we don't know best. We believe that with the proper information, you are well equipped to make the best choices fit for yourself, your pregnancy, your baby and your experience, and that this personal sense of knowledge and intuition only grows more and more with time.
A Doula has tips, tricks, tools, techniques and an ever growing mental, emotional, physical, spiritual library on how to serve you best.

Every doula is different in what they can offer you, and its worth asking some questions before hiring on a doula to make sure you're both a great fit. Connection, connection, connection. You would rather have a doula that has attended less births that you have an automatic connection with, than a douls that has attended hundreds that makes you a smidge uncomfortable. Things get magnified in your labor space.
Fear? Uncomfortable? Tense?
They can be magnified while in labor.
Peace? Joy? Calm? Comfort?
They can all be magnified too.
Picking the right doula is not only really important but also an amazing start and addition to hand curating your perfect birth team and sacred space which help support a positive experience.
